Aiyedatiwa’s apology won’t stop impeachment, Assembly insists

Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, has said that the recent public apology of Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu would not stall the impeachment proceedings.

Oladiji, who said Aiyedatiwa’s apology was not the concern of the Assembly, stated that the move by the deputy governor was a personal issue with his boss.

Aiyedatiwa had, last week, apologised to Akeredolu over the protracted political crisis in the state. On his part, Akeredolu, who responded through his Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties, Doyin Odebowale, stated that Aiyedatiwa should face the allegations levelled against him by the Assembly instead of apologising.
