Stakeholders urge government to invest in robotics

Some stakeholders in the technology sector have called on the government to invest in robotics engineering and also include robotics in secondary school curricula to explore the benefits and build solutions to economic problems in Nigeria National Business Lead, Edupoint Limited, Tochi Opara-Eze, said investing in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) will enhance the wide-spread use of robotics in Nigeria and would produce experts in the field.

This was at the grand finale secondary school competition of EduPoint Robo Code Fest. 2.0 in Lagos, where nine schools competed. He stated that the competition enabled the students to choose a field out of nine key areas and identify and proffer solutions.

“The students are to choose one out of the key nine areas of Nigeria’s economy, including agriculture, education, health, real estate and others,” he noted.
