Nigeria’s Minister of Sports Development, John Owan Enoh, has secured the sum of two hundred million naira for the men’s national football team, the Super Eagles, currently campaigning at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
The minister commended the enthusiasm of the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Imo State governor, Hope Uzodimma, and all members of the Forum for the swift action taken immediately he spoke with Uzodimma on the need for the governors to motivate the team ahead of Wednesday’s semi-final clash against South Africa.
Enoh, a former senator, also confirmed that the entire sum has already been redeemed to the Super Eagles by the Progressive Governors’ Forum.
He said: “I want to thank the Progressive Governors’ Forum under the leadership of Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo state for galvanizing and redeeming the sum of N200,000,000 to the Super Eagles of Nigeria who are currently in Cote D’Ivoire for AFCON 2023.
