Zamfara doles out 6,200 bags of fertilizer to farmers in three LGAs

The Zamfara Government on Monday commenced the free distribution of 6,200 bags of fertilizer to farmers in Anka, Bukkuyum and Gummi Local Government Areas in the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Gov. Dauda Lawal had recently inaugurated the distribution of 135 trucks of fertilizer across the state.

Speaking at the distribution exercise in Gummi, Anka and Bukkuyum towns, the Special Adviser to the governor on Community Engagement, Mustafa Gado-Anka, said the gesture was part of the state government’s policy to enhance agriculture.

Gado-Anka said, “This is part of Gov. Dauda Lawal administration’s policies to enhance agricultural production as well as boost food security in the state.

“As directed by the governor, the commodity should be distributed to the farmers free of charge.”
