Youth groups reject October protest against Tinubu

No fewer than 60 youth organisations and prominent youth leaders, under the auspices of the Nigeria Youth Organization (NYO), have announced that their members will not participate in the rumoured national protest against President Bola Tinubu’s administration scheduled for October 1.

President of the NYO, Duke Alamboye, conveyed this stance during a courtesy visit to Dr. Dennis Otuaro, the administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), in Abuja.

A press release issued by Mr. Igoniko Oduma, the Special Assistant on Media to the PAP Administrator, on Thursday, confirmed the youth leaders’ position.

He outlined plans for a world press conference and a youth summit to sensitise Nigerians about the need to avoid the planned demonstration.
