KANSIEC vows to go ahead with Kano LG polls tomorrow

The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) has affirmed its commitment to conduct the local government elections scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2024, despite facing legal challenges.

Speaking at a press briefing on Friday, KANSIEC Chairman Sani Malumfashi called for calm and reassured the public that there would be no postponement of the elections.

“We are fully prepared, and there is no going back. The court with jurisdiction over local government issues has made its judgement and ruled that we should proceed with the election.

“The police have also been directed to provide the necessary security for the exercise,” Malumfashi stated.
