Ministries sign MoU for power, irrigation project

The Federal Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation and the Federal Ministry of Power. 

This collaboration according to the Ministry of Water Resources seeks to implement the hydropower component of the Sustainable Power and Irrigation in Nigeria (SPIN) Project, emphasizing food security, renewable energy, and water resource management.

The signing ceremony held at the Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation in Abuja highlights the government’s commitment to fostering sustainable development by integrating water management and renewable energy solutions.

Speaking at the event, the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Engr. Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, reaffirmed the ministry’s dedication to improving water access, boosting food production, and enhancing livelihoods.
