Navy seizes 1,400 litres of illegally refined oil in Ondo

Men of the Quick Response Team at Agadagba Naval Outpost in the Ese Odo Local Council Area of Ondo State, under the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Igbokoda, intercepted a wooden boat carrying illegally refined petroleum products over the weekend

The seized cargo, later confirmed to be 1,400 litres of illegally refined oil, was stored in 44 jerry cans.

The team, led by the Base Operations Officer, Forward Operating Base Igbokoda, Lieutenant Commander A.D. Morgan, disclosed that they acted on credible intelligence received through maritime security outlets a few days ago.

Speaking on the development, the Commander of the Forward Operating Base Igbokoda, Navy Captain Aliyu Usman, issued a stern warning to those involved in the illegal act.
