IG Securities, the Japanese subsidiary of electronic trading major IG Group, is raising the minimum maintenance margin rate for new positions in corporate accounts.
The broker explains that it regularly reviews various standards such as the maintenance margin rate to accurately reflect the degree of price fluctuation, liquidity, and risk factors in the market.
In consideration of recent market conditions, IG Japan will change the minimum maintenance margin rate for new positions in corporate accounts as follows after 11:00 p.m. on April 4, 2025:
- Stock index – increase to 2%
- Gold – increase to 1%;
- Crude oil-related instruments – increase to 3%;
- Bond futures – increase to 1%.
There are no changes to individual accounts, nor to existing positions.
