Afe Babalola seeks law enforcement role for military

The founder of the Afe Babaloa University Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Aare Afe Babalola yesterday advocated an amendment to the constitution and other statutes to saddle the military with the enforcement and obedience to law and order in the country.

According to him, the problem in the country today is nothing other than lack of discipline, adding that, it is right from the leadership to the followership.

The legal icon who stated this at the 4th Aare Afe Babalola Distinguished Personality Lecture Series held at ABUAD campus Ado-Ekiti, said if the country must move forward, the law should be amended in such a way to saddle the military discipline and obedience of citizens.

“Upon reading the topic of the Lecture, a question raced to my mind. The question was: How can there be security, leadership and peace when there is no order? For me, the Military today is the most disciplined institution in the country,”…
