Ndigbo on Saturday pleaded with President Bola Tinubu to order the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kalu, as a mark of honour to the late president general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.
They stated that the visit to Kanu in Abuja in search of a possible solution to his detention was the last assignment Iwuanyanwu undertook from where he passed on a few months ago.
They, therefore, asked Tinubu to grant Iwuanyanwu his last wish by releasing Kanu and immortalize him.
At the service of songs and tributes in Enugu on Saturday for Iwuanyanwu, different speakers stressed the dire need for the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu from the DSS facility and to immortalise Iwuanyanwu as a full Nigeria by all standards of nationalism, patriotism, and statesmanship.
