Barau awards 1,000 scholarships, facilitates seven varsity study centres in Kano

Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has finalized plans to award 1,000 scholarships for students in Kano Central and Kano South Senatorial Districts to pursue ICT-related degree programs. The initiative, facilitated through the Barau I Jibrin Foundation (BIJF), aims to improve access to higher education in the region.

The scholarship recipients will be the pioneer students of seven new study centres of Federal University, Dutsin-ma, Katsina State, which are set to be established in Kano Central and South Senatorial Districts through Senator Barau’s intervention.

According to a statement from Alhaji Ismail Mudashir, Special Adviser to the Deputy President of the Senate on Media and Publicity, Senator Barau and the university management finalized plans for the study centres over the weekend.
