Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Edo State chapter, yesterday, called on women journalists to upgrade their academic qualifications for future opportunities and contributions to national development.
Addressing members of the association at Edo NUJ secretariat in Benin City, Princess Habiibah Oyarekhua, who made the call, said it was in consonance with the years International Women’s Day’s theme: “DigitALL: Innovation And Technology For Gender Equality.”
She said: “Women are intelligent and if you all develop your digital intelligence and sustain it, I tell you, women, in no time, will overtake men. Women are smart and if given the opportunity to deliver on deadline, women deliver on deadline and they are more honest than men.”
On gender equality, she commended the working-class women, who, despite the challenge of their works, still keep the home front.
