Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor, has tasked troops of Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), to smoke out terrorists to end the war in the North East geopolitical zone.
He gave the charge yesterday in Maiduguri, while addressing officers at the Theatre Command, Maimalari Cantonment.
“You must ensure that the Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists are smoked out from their hideouts,” the CDS charged, stating that there are remnants of criminals in Sambisa Forest and Lake Chad region.
While assessing troops involved in the counter-insurgency operations, he said: “Huge progress is being made in our joint military operations to restore peace in the insurgency-affected states of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe.”
