Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun has called on indigenes to embrace pig rearing and other forms of farming to boost food production in the state.
Adeleke, represented by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food security, Mr. Tola Faseru, made the call at a one-day training and empowerment for people living with disabilities on Thursday in Osogbo.
The governor also said that with 50 percent of Osun indigenes embracing such farming, it would reduce poverty in the state.
He said that his administration would continue to support farmers in the state to ensure food abundance and security.
