MEDICAL experts and stakeholders have blamed the government over low production of vaccines in Nigeria, which will result in difficulty in eradicating the spread of contagious diseases in the country.
This report, spearheaded by the Nigeria Network of NGOs (NNNGO), in collaboration with The People’s Vaccine (PVA) and Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP), focused on the state of vaccine production, owing to the recent rise in outbreaks of diseases like malaria, diphtheria, cholera, meningitis and measles.
The Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), in a statement, said that public health services across the country continue to suffer from underfunding and weak infrastructure, which further increases inequality, adding that the protection of people’s health must be top priority for governments and institutions at all levels.
