Groups’ clash kills five, mars Sallah celebration in Jos

The clash between two rival deadly groups known as Sara Suka has left five of their members killed, thereby ruining the otherwise peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration in Jos.

The groups clashed many hours after Muslims finished their prayers on Sunday in a hinterland of Jos North Local Council of Plateau State at the Al-Mohap praying ground. It was gathered that there had been a long-standing feud between the two rival groups, which had been simmering before the latest incident.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for Plateau State Police Command, DSP Alfred Alabo, could not be reached for comment on the incident. Apart from that, the Eid-el-fitri celebration in Jos, Plateau State capital, was peaceful.
