Eleven passengers have reportedly been abducted by suspected gunmen. This happened at the Amechi-Idodo axis of the Enugu-Abakaliki federal highway in Enugu State.
What happened in Enugu
The victims, which included students were, according to The Nation, from tertiary institutions in Ebonyi State.
They were traveling in a commercial bus from Awka, Anambra State, to Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State, on Tuesday when they were abducted.
How the abduction happened
The abduction occurred when the assailants intercepted the bus at the Amechi-Idodo area in Nkanu East Local Government Area, a location that has recently become a hotspot for kidnappings.
A relative of one of the victims revealed that the kidnappers had contacted the family. They demanded a ransom of N30 million.
