ICPC urges Kebbi varsity to establish anti-corruption unit

The Independent Corrupt Practice and Other related Offences Commission (ICPC), has urged the management of Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology, Alero in Kebbi, to establish Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU).

The Resident ICPC Commissioner in-charge of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States, Mr Garba Tukur-Idris, made the call when he visited the institution on Tuesday.

Tukur-Idris stressed the need to sustain the corruption free achievements enshrined in the university and urged them to be models of integrity in the anti-corruption drive.

He commended the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Bagudu Dan-Shehu for his commitment and steadfastness which culminated into prudent performance.

He attributed the rising level of corruption in public offices to societal pressure occasioned by high expectations of people in the country.
