Operatives of the Imo State Police Command from Njaba Police Divisional Headquarters have repelled an attack on their facility by suspected terrorists. The officers also killed three of the suspected attackers, recovering from them a General Purpose Machine Gun, one AK-47 rifle, and three Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) – one Toyota Lexus 470, a Mercedes GLK, and a Toyota Venza.
The Guardian learnt it was the hoodlums’ third attempt at attacking the divisional headquarters without success. They had arrived in the area, shooting sporadically before the operatives confronted them in an exchange of gunfire.
There were no casualties on the police side.
