Jigawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has deposited N2.5 billion with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) as part of the state’s 2023 Hajj fares.
Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Umar Labbo, told newsmen in Dutse on Friday that NAHCON allocated 1,225 seats to the state for the 2023 exercise.
He said each intending pilgrim in the state would pay N2.9 million as Hajj fare as approved by NAHCON.
Labbo added that 80 per cent of the seats allocated to the state by NAHCON had been allocated to its 27 local government areas for sale to intending pilgrims.
He said also that the board had assigned the transportation of the state’s pilgrims to AZMAN Airlines.
