Kano throne: Emir Sanusi reacts to Appeal Court judgment

The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has urged residents to remain calm and resist any temptation that could provoke unrest in the ancient city.

Sanusi made the appeal Friday evening while reacting to the verdict of the Court of Appeal on the validity of his appointment as 16th emir of Kano.

The three-member panel of Justices of the appellate court, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in their judgement set aside the lower court ruling nullifying Sanusi’s reinstatement.

The then Justice of the Federal High Court, Kano division, Abdullahi Liman, in a fundamental rights application brought by one Aminu Babba Dan’Agundi, ruled in favor of the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, against Sanusi.

Reacting to the development, Sanusi said the unfolding development was a testament to the will of God that is beyond the reasoning of any human being.
