Lagos State Government has said that the principles of fairness, equity and justice have always and will continue to underpin government’s relationship with labour unions.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Establishments and Training, Olubusola Abidakun, made the remark, yesterday, during a two-day training programme organised by the ministry for labour union members and other stakeholders in the state.
She said that the state government was striving to create workplaces where every employee feels not only valued and respected but also their contributions and rights are recognised and protected.
Abidakun, who added that communication and dialogue are the cornerstone of a harmonious relationship between labour unions and government, charged labour union leaders to work constructively with the government to find solutions that would benefit both workers and government.
