Nigeria enlists 358 athletes in 25 sports for African Games

Team Nigeria will be represented by over 358 athletes at the 13th African Games, which officially runs from March 8 to 23 in Accra, Kumasi and Cape Coast. Nigeria is competing in 25 sports at the event.

Accreditation for most of the events began at the Delegation Registration Meeting yesterday in Accra.

In the Team Nigeria delegation, athletics has the highest number of 50 participants, while football will present 40 players. Arm Wrestling has 15 athletes, just as Badminton has 12.

The other events include Basketball 3 x 3, where Nigeria has four female athletes, Beach Volleyball (four athletes), Boxing (11), Chess (four), Cricket (15), Cycling (12) and Hockey 32.

Others are Handball (14), Judo (10), Karate (14), Mixed Martial Arts (4), Rugby (16) and Scrabble (eight).
