The Northern Elders Forum (NEF), on Friday, expressed satisfaction with the recent Supreme Court judgement that grants financial autonomy to the 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs).
The forum said that the landmark decision will catalyze substantial development at the grassroots level, heralding a new era of decentralized power and resources within the nation’s governance framework.
NEF spokesperson Abdul-Azeez Suleiman in a statement applauded the Supreme Court for addressing this imbalance of power and resources, paving the way for more targeted and effective local governance.
