In a bid to improve their contributions to the national infrastructure landscape, the President, Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Mrs Margaret Oguntala, has urged the Lagos State government to appoint qualified engineers to head engineering-related Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
She also charged the government to invest more in capacity building of engineers as such professionals bring a unique problem-solving mindset and technical expertise that are crucial for the successful implementation of projects.
The society requested that more engineers be employed in the civil service at Grade Level 10, ensuring parity with other professionals and enhancing the capacity of the workforce to meet the state’s development goals.
