Ondo by-election: Aspirants kick as Ehindero emerges APC’s candidate for Akoko Constituency

One Ifeoluwa Ehindero, at the weekend, emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the by-election to fill the vacant seat of Akoko North-West/North-East Federal Constituency.

Ehindero polled 105 votes to defeat eight other aspirants and emerged as the party’s standard-bearer at Victory College, Ikare-Akoko for the bye-election slated for February 3.

The federal constituency seat became vacant last year following the appointment of the erstwhile representative, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, by President Bola Tinubu as Minister of Interior.

Meanwhile, following the emergence of Ehindero, the eight other aspirants kicked against the process as they argued that the primary election lacked transparency.
