Oromoni's mother dies seven months after court cleared Dowen College

Rosemary Oromoni, the mother of Sylvester Ormomoni, the pre-teen secondary school student who died after enduring bullying from other students of Dowen College, is dead.

Her death comes seven months after a court in Lagos ruled against the family on the matter. Quoting an unnamed source in the family, The Cable reported that Rosemary died in late November after battling a blood pressure-related illness.

After Sylvester’s death in November 2021, his parents charged Dowen College to court. They claimed that the 12-year-old was bullied, beaten up, and fed a chemical substance by five male students of the school.

The school management countered Sylvester’s parents, alleging that he sustained injuries while playing football with his friends.
