The Plateau College of Education, Gindri, says it has secured approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC), to run 19 degree programs.
Prof. Lazarus Maigoro, the Acting Provost of the College disclosed this to the News Agency Nigeria (NAN), on Sunday in Jos.
He said the programs would be in affiliation with the University of Jos.
”When I took over as Provost on Feb 14, I discovered that the institution has been for the past eight years pushing for affiliation with the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, to run degree programs without success.
” I applied to the university of Jos in March, it immediately sent a team who inspected our facilities, personnel and what have you.
”The report was presented to the senate of Unijos in June, and the proposed programs were approved.
