Delta government has urged contractors handling road projects in the state not to execute shoddy jobs to justify the huge sums allocated to the projects.
The Commissioner for Works (Highway and Urban), Mr Ruben Izeze, said this when the Asaba Correspondents Chapel visited the commissioner on Wednesday in Asaba.
Izeze warned that any shoddy job on a road project would be pulled down and the contractor would be sanctioned.
He reiterated that all road projects awarded by the state government were expected to last for 20 years if the specifications contained in the Bill of Quantity were followed.
According to him, the highway and unban projects may be few in the state but must be built as legacy projects with a lifespan of 20 years.
