Soludo calls for action against criminality

Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has urged residents to actively condemn criminal activities in society, emphasising that security is a collective responsibility.

Soludo made the call on Sunday during the thanksgiving service to mark the beginning of the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day commemoration in Awka.

He stated that addressing insecurity required the involvement of community, religious, and traditional leaders, as well as individual responsibility in reporting suspicious activities and participating in neighbourhood watch initiatives.

Soludo said that the thanksgiving service not only honoured the fallen heroes but also served as a call to action against criminality.

He described the criminals as organised groups perpetuating ideologies linked to idolatry, stressing that they live among the community and must be confronted.
