TetFund probe: Idoma chiefs cautions against removal of Sonny Echono

A group of Idoma palace chiefs, the Aojoko K’Oturkpo (Special Advisers to the traditional ruler of Otukpo) have cautioned against what it called ‘sponsored attacks’ on the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TetFund) Sonny Echono.

They alleged that reports indicate that Echono is under probe by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) for awarding two contracts to the tune of 7.6 billion naira without the approval of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) which is mandatory for contracts of such magnitudes.
