UI students vow to continue protest as blackout remains in UCH hostels

University of Ibadan (UI) medical students studying within the premises of the University College Hospital (UCH) staged another protest on Thursday, vowing to continue protesting until their hostels located inside UCH are reconnected.

The students also challenged IBEDC over the disconnection of their halls of residence.

The power company had disconnected the UCH and halls of residence of medical students located within the UCH facility.

Also, the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, had a tripartite meeting with the management of UCH with IBEDC on Monday, where he assured that light would be restored to the hospital between 24 hours and 48 hours.

The power was restored to the hospital on Wednesday, but the power of Ayo Falase Hostel and Alexandra Brown Halls was not connected.
