We’ll not leave Unity Fountain until Tinubu is sworn in — Protesters

A pro-democracy group, under the auspices of “Coalition for a Better Nigeria, has vowed to remain in Nigeria’s Unity Fountain in Abuja until the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is sworn in on May 29, 2023.

Leaders of the group during a protest, on Friday, condemned those calling for interim government or outright cancellation of the February 25 presidential election.

The Convener, Awa Bamiji, said the group was out to protect the hard-earned democracy in Nigeria by ensuring smooth transition of power on May 29, so that the mandate “freely given by Nigerians to Tinubu.”
